NRL tipping online was a nightmare for most this season. While the Melbourne Storm, deservedly, earned the premiership last Sunday, the upsets went on throughout the season – and into the finals.

NRL tipping online was challenging and those having a bet on NRL or trying to offer NRL tips to their mates were, really, on a hiding to nothing. It is unlikely that there wasn’t at least a few weeks where your NRL tips – and tipping ego – took a beating. In the finals, for example, St.George was eliminated in straight sets, despite finishing the season as minor premier.

Parramatta meanwhile – who defeated the Dragons in the first week of the finals – finished eighth and progressed to the Grand Final against the Storm, losing 23-16. In all, they won three sudden death finals after sneaking into the top-eight in the first place. But, rather than be fodder for their opposition, they landed some big fish of their own and were one of the stories of the year. They also would have cost some of us, who bet on NRL, some money on their NRL tips.

At Centrebet.com, the 2010 odds show Parramatta as the favourite, remarkably, for next year’s title. For those who bet on NRL, the Eels are $4.75 to go one-step further next season, while Melbourne Storm is $5. The Bulldogs are next in line at $7.50, while St. George is listed at $8. But, after what happened this season, you shouldn’t bet on NRL 2010 too early. Otherwise, your NRL tips will be made to look silly – and that happened to a number of people this season.
